AXIS Capital Holdings announced the appointment of Rebecca O’Kill as Chief Data and Analytics Officer. O’Kill will be based in London and will report to Dan Draper, AXIS’ chief underwriting officer.

In her new role, O’Kill will oversee global data strategy and governance across the organization, as well as the analytics operating model. She will also help provide business intelligence and insights to support the underwriting process.

“Rebecca is a proven global data and analytics leader who brings a deep understanding of value creation in specialty insurance through her actuarial experience and background,” said Draper. “Your leadership and perspective will be invaluable as we continue to improve the use of data and analytics to strengthen our team and continue to increase the speed and service we offer to our brokers and clients.”

O’Kill joins the firm after 16 years at Beazley, where she held various senior positions including interim chief data officer and head of actuarial analysis.

Earlier this month, AXIS announced the appointment of Mark Gregory as Head of Global Markets and Michael J. McKenna as Head of North America. Last month, the company appointed Megan Watt as chief claims officer.
