Chubb, the world’s largest publicly traded property and casualty insurance company, has announced the appointment of Adam Mason (pictured above) as executive vice president, casualty insurance for Overseas General Insurance, the company’s general insurance business.

Mason is currently the associate director of casualty insurance for Overseas General Insurance. In his new role, he will be responsible for the growth and profitability of the company’s casualty businesses in 51 countries and territories outside of North America.

Mason has over 30 years of insurance industry experience. Prior to his position as assistant general manager of casualty insurance at Overseas General Insurance, he served as chief underwriting officer for casualty insurance. Mason joined Chubb (then ACE) in 2002 and worked in the UK and Ireland for the multinational private and corporate underwriting teams. Mason joined the company’s casualty insurance division in 2011. Before joining Chubb, Mason was an assistant underwriter at Independent Insurance and a casualty underwriter at CNA.

Mason will continue to report to Mark Homan, who was recently promoted to general manager of international property and casualty insurance for Overseas General Insurance. Both appointments are effective June 1, Chubb said.

“Over two decades at Chubb, Adam has built a strong reputation as a technical underwriter and experienced multinational executive,” said Homan. “As Deputy Head and Chief Underwriting Officer for our International Casualty business, Adam has been instrumental in driving the growth and profitability of our portfolio across all regions. We are pleased to welcome this experienced leader and manager to this important role.”
