AXA XL has announced the appointment of Vicky Roberts-Mills as Energy Transition Leader. This new role will effectively combine the skills of AXA XL and AXA Group in working with clients to achieve their respective net zero goals. She will switch to AXA XL later this year.

In this global role, Roberts-Mills will develop the insurer’s global energy transition strategy. She brings over 20 years of experience to this role, having previously held senior positions in various companies in the energy sector, including renewable energy and energy transition.

Roberts-Mills was previously at Aon as Head of Offshore Renewable Energy. Prior to that, she held various management positions at BP for almost 18 years. According to LinkedIn, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Manchester and a Master of Science in Applied Geosciences and Management from the same university.

Sean McGovern, CEO of AXA XL UK and Lloyd’s, said the appointment of Roberts-Mills is an important step in the company’s mission to provide clients with the best possible outcomes in the transition to net zero.

“Her extensive experience in global insurance and risk management, coupled with her knowledge of acting on the client side, puts her in a unique position to understand the perspective of our policyholders, offer those clients the best of AXA and guide them through their transition “This is an important strategic initiative for us and I’m delighted to welcome Vicky to the team,” said McGovern.
