ALM Global has announced the launch of the Cannabis Insurance Coverage Specialist (CICS) designation.
The CICS designation is being developed by ALM’s subject matter experts and thought leaders in collaboration with insurance, legal and cannabis industry regulators, ALM said. Coursework for the designation is updated regularly to reflect the ever-evolving cannabis industry.
“With the increasing legalization of marijuana in the United States, we wanted to create a job title that would benefit anyone who serves or works in the ever-evolving cannabis industry,” said Molly Miller, ALM’s Chief Content Officer. “The coursework focuses on providing an in-depth look at the challenges and opportunities that organizations face on a daily basis.”
According to ALM, the CICS is the most comprehensive professional learning program available for insurance industry professionals, as well as growers, distributors, manufacturers, dispensaries and others wishing to master cannabis insurance.
